Job summary

Sherman Associates is seeking a Laundry Attendant at the Sheraton Duluth Hotel. This part-time role runs weekdays and weekends from 5-10 pm, helping ensure a steady supply of clean linen for the hotel. No prior housekeeping experience is required, but customer service in hospitality is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives dirty linen from housekeeping staff and separates linens and towels by type.
• Washes, dries, and folds laundry following proper procedures.
• Maintains the organization of the laundry room.
• Follows all safety and OSHA regulations and other applicable state and local regulations.
• Tracks and reports linen shortages, damages or other discrepancies to appropriate manager.
• Maintains product quality standards by inspecting and properly treating stained or torn linens.
• Works as a team player and interacts with all internal and external customers in a friendly/efficient manner.
• Communicates effectively with guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction.
• Strives to exceed guest expectations and meet brand standards.
• Produces required volume of work by planning, organizing, and prioritizing work duties.
• Adheres to Sherman Associates attendance policy, grooming and appearance standards, general work rules, and department procedures.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment, follows all procedures for guests and employee incidents and is knowledgeable for hotel emergency procedures
• Attends all required department and hotel meetings

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for ensuring there is an adequate supply of linen available to meet the demand of the hotel.

Schedule: We are currently seeking part-time availability to include both weekdays and weekends (Sunday-Tuesday + Friday) from 5-10 pm.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• No prior housekeeping experience required; Customer service experience in the hospitality industry strongly preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow directions in a multi-lingual environment.
• Must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.

• Schedule may vary due to the specific needs of the hotel.
• Ensure compliance with brand standards, federal, state and local hotel laws regarding health and safety services.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration
• The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites
• The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud
• Exposure to/handling of biological substances such as blood, urine, and vomit

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis
• Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 200-lbs. on a regular and continuing basis
• Requires frequent kneeling, squatting, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity

ADDITIONAL SCREENING REQUIREMENTS

• Must successfully meet criminal background screening requirements for position.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Range:$16/hr. Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position; including experience, skills, and knowledge the selected individual is bringing to the specific job.
