Description

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for washing all soiled linens, towels, napkins, and tablecloths; folding and ironing.

Essential Functions

• Remove and sort dirty linens and towels from laundry carts.
• Wash and dry all dirty linens, towels, rags, etc., as directed by management.
• Stand during entire shift.
• Operate washing machines and dryers; clean dryer filter daily and maintain equipment.
• Keep laundry carts and work area clean and debris-free. Long hours sometimes required.
• Perform room attendant duties as needed.
• Respond courteously to guests, managers, and staff; handle stressful situations professionally; report guest issues to management.

Non-essential Functions

• Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

Other Personnel Issues

• Follow payroll policies, safety procedures, and conduct rules.
• Maintain a safe environment; report unusual occurrences.
• Abide by employee handbook regulations.

Job Requirements

Education: No formal education needed

Experience: Prior housekeeping/laundry experience desirable

Skills and Abilities: Ability to communicate in English is a plus; self-motivated; professional appearance; good guest communication skills.

Physical Requirements

• Pushing linen carts, lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally, 20 lbs frequently.
• Bending and kneeling to handle linens.

• Standing and walking for long periods.
• No driving required.
