Job summary

Hoosier Village in Indianapolis, IN is hiring a Laundry Attendant to support residents by managing linen and clothing, following infection control procedures, and coordinating laundry schedules. The role involves hands-on work, labeling garments, and ensuring a clean, organized laundry area.

Qualifications

• Detail oriented and able to handle fabrics and linen with care.
• Physically capable to lift and move items up to 25 pounds.
• Willingness to learn and follow facility procedures.

Responsibilities

• Follows community’s policies for handling, storing, processing, and transporting linen and residents’ personal laundry.
• Complies with infection control requirements of the laundry and uses appropriate PPE as necessary.
• Establishes and adheres to laundry schedule to ensure adequate supply of clean laundry in all required areas; assigns duties for laundry team.
• Sorts and loads laundry as designated.
• Washes linen, clothing and other items and records weights for each load.
• Irons linen and clothing.
• Reads labels on personal laundry prior to washing.
• Reports any damaged or lost clothing articles to the supervisor; arranges repairs/replacements as necessary.
• Ensures residents’ garments are properly labeled and labels items as appropriate.
• Follows all written infection control procedures and performs other duties as assigned

In This Role You Will:

• Follows all written infection control procedures established by the community and performs other related duties as assigned

Shift Details: Tuesday through Saturday 8:00am - 4:30pm, Weekend Rotation

Who You Are:

• Detail oriented individual with previous housekeeping experience preferred but not required
• Physically capable, dependable, and prepared to actively engage in hands-on work, including bending, twisting, stretching, repetitive motion, pushing, pulling, and safely lifting or moving up to 25 pounds in support of daily operations
• Eager to learn and grow, with the ability to quickly absorb on-the-job training and apply new skills effectively to meet and exceed performance expectations
