Job Description Summary

The Laundry Attendant (LA) works with the Housekeeping Management Team in the commercial laundry facility, to include cleaning and storing linens in a timely, organized manner to meet the hotel’s laundry and linen needs. The LA may also be scheduled to clean guest rooms and public spaces, following brand standards to ensure guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent service according to Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
• Sort and inspect soiled laundry, record damages or stains.
• Operate washers and dryers per standards and guidelines.
• Monitor supplies and equipment, report damages.
• Fold, store linens, and report damages.
• Clean and service assigned rooms or areas, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing bathrooms, and removing trash.
• Notify supervisors upon completion of service or if rooms cannot be serviced.
• Report repairs or unsafe conditions.
• Respond to guest requests and complaints to ensure satisfaction.
• Minimize waste of supplies.
• Handle lost and found items following procedures.
• Assist with deep cleaning projects as needed.
• Promote teamwork and communication with other shifts and management.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial laundry preferred.
• Background in extended stay industry is a plus.
• Fluent in English; other languages beneficial.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Ability to stand, bend, climb, kneel, and move frequently.
• Lifting up to 75 pounds required.
• Use of commercial cleaning chemicals required.
• Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
