Job summary

Ashton Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a part-time Laundry Aide for the night shift to help maintain clean linens and a comfortable resident environment. The role offers a supportive team and opportunities to earn by experience.

You will follow established procedures, lift and transport soiled linens safely, use protective gear, and protect residents' privacy while supporting daily operations.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to lift, push, pull and move equipment and supplies over 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand, walk and bend for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Laundry Aide will follow established policies and procedures for laundry tasks.
• Handle soiled linens using proper protocols and transport to the laundry department.
• Use appropriate protective clothing/equipment while performing duties.
• Maintain cleaning schedules for assigned areas and follow department timelines.
• Protect residents' privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Document incidents or concerns per facility policy.

Responsibilities

Laundry Aide Essential Functions

• Laundry Aide will follow established policies/procedures of laundry tasks
• Use proper protocols for picking up soiled linens, including isolation linens, and transporting them to the laundry department
• Use proper protective clothing/equipment while performing laundry duties
• Laundry Aide will maintain all cleaning schedules for each assigned area and following the laundry department schedules
• Maintain the confidentiality of all residents and their care to ensure residents rights, privacy and property are protected at all times
• Report and document resident and/or visitor incidents, accidents, complaints or allegations according to the facility’s policy and procedure using the designated occurrence reporting system

Qualifications

• The ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
• Must be able to lift, push, pull and move equipment, supplies, etc in excess of 50 lbs
• Must be able to do constant walking, bending, lifting and standing for long periods during a scheduled shift
