Job summary

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is seeking entry-level engineers to join the EDGE Program for Civil Engineers. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or ABET-accredited program required.
• Ability to apply engineering knowledge to complete projects and other tasks.
• Ability to pass the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE) and obtain the EIT designation within 12 months of employment.
• Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret engineering data; prepare clear reports and recommendations.
• Communicate effectively with internal staff, local government, consultants, and the public; investigate issues and resolve complaints.
• Assist in design, inspections, and project documentation across multiple disciplines.
• Manage and coordinate engineering program activities to meet scope, schedule, and budget.
