Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or ABET-accredited program by start of employment.
• Must pass the FE exam and obtain EIT designation within 12 months.
• Must be at least 18 years old at start of employment.
• Knowledge of construction and maintenance contracts and related policies.

Responsibilities

• Analyze engineering data and prepare clear reports and recommendations.
• Coordinate with VDOT staff, local governments, consultants, and the public on projects.
• Conduct field inspections and maintain project documentation.
• Manage project activities to meet scope and timeline.
• Assist in roadway design, traffic planning, and related engineering tasks.
• Support project management including scope, schedule, budget and deliverables.
