Job summary

Virginia Department of Transportation seeks entry-level engineers for the EDGE Program. You will participate in a developmental path toward Architect Engineer I across disciplines such as Location and Design, Materials, Residency Operations, Construction, and more.

You will prepare analyses, reports, and recommendations, provide technical guidance, and manage projects to meet timelines while collaborating with internal staff, local governments, consultants, and FHWA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology or related ABET-accredited program.
• Pass the FE exam and obtain EIT within 12 months of employment.
• Knowledge of construction and maintenance contract policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Analyze engineering data and prepare clear reports and recommendations.
• Coordinate with staff, consultants, and agencies on transportation projects.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables.
