Job summary

UAH College of Business is looking for a Research Technician to support ballistic testing and research at the USASMDC-TC Aerophysics Research Facility in Alabama. Responsibilities include maintaining and operating specialized launcher systems, performing fabrications, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

A successful candidate will have 6-8 years of relevant experience, an Associate's degree, and must be a US Citizen eligible for a security clearance. The salary ranges from $60,001 to $65,000.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6-8 years of full-time, verifiable work experience.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 pounds.
• Must be a US Citizen and eligible for Final Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support the assembly, setup, operation, and maintenance of test launcher systems.
• Document project activities and maintain functional checklists.
• Safely operate material handling equipment in accordance with procedures.

Skills

Clear written and verbal communication skills

Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Mechanical assembly and fabrication

Operation of hydraulic and pressurized gas systems

Material handling equipment operation

Education

Associate’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
