Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer in Launch Software to own end-to-end software engineering and product development. You will work on mission-critical applications supporting SpaceX launches, manufacturing software, and Starlink operations, collaborating with teams across engineering to deliver robust, scalable solutions.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in full-stack development, modern web apps, and production-grade systems, with hands-on experience in Docker,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or scientific discipline OR 2+ years of professional experience building software
• Experience in full stack development
• Proficiency in Python, C#.NET, Go, Scala, Java
• 1+ years of building single page web applications
• Experience with version control, CI/CD concepts
• Expertise in designing software systems
• Strong testing, CI, build, deployment & monitoring knowledge
• Profiling and improving application performance
• Experience with build systems (Make, Bazel/Pants/Buck, Gradle) and package managers (pip, npm)
• Experience with UNIX-like OSes and tools like Terraform, Ansible, Puppet
• Experience with data streaming tech (Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ)
• Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Front-end experience in Angular, React, or similar
• Database experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar databases

Responsibilities

• Develop highly reliable software solutions used across SpaceX
• Create new applications to improve SpaceX operations
• Build prototypes to prove key design concepts and constraints
• Own all aspects of software engineering and product development
• Deep dive into users' problems to craft efficient solutions
• Contribute voice in architecture, design, and code reviews
