Amazon.com Services LLC in Tempe, AZ is seeking an SSD Operations Engineer to lead the lifecycle of cross-functional projects, focusing on site configurations, virtual readiness, and end-to-end testing for new facility launches, retrofits, and expansions.

You will validate system configurations and installations before go-live, partner with Launch, IT, Startup, Engineering, and Operations teams, travel up to 80% domestically, and drive readiness with scalable processes to reduce defects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, and field execution through launch readiness and go-live phases.
• Experience building launch readiness frameworks and scalable deployment mechanisms.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, MS Project).
• 3+ years of professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end testing and validation of site configurations for launches and retrofits.
• Partner with Launch, IT, Startup, Engineering and Operations to set priorities and schedules.
• Assess readiness, identify gaps, and drive mitigation strategies.
• Lead execution to validate systems, equipment, and automated processes.
• Monitor testing progress and report milestones affecting cost or schedule.
• Solve ambiguous problems and develop scalable readiness processes.
• Build relationships across organizations for alignment and smooth handover.
• Identify process improvements to raise launch quality.
• Travel up to 80% domestically, with potential three-week blocks.
