Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL seeks a Facilities Mechanical Systems Engineer II to design, develop, construct and activate Mechanical HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection and other systems to support launch and manufacturing facility needs. This role focuses on mechanical facility development, construction and activation, with travel to Kent, WA; Alabama and Texas as needed.

You will create drawings and specs, perform loads calculations, plan shakedown tests, and apply mission assurance principles

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in mechanical engineering required.
• 5+ years of experience with complex facility design, operations and maintenance.
• Experience leading small- to medium-sized teams and managing subcontractors.
• PE license eligible within 2 years is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical systems requirements and verification.
• Manage design, analysis and development of launch support facilities.
• Oversee construction and activation of launch pad mechanical systems.
• Create drawings, specifications and one-line diagrams.
• Plan shakedown, tests and data reviews.
• Maintain schedule and budget, mentor other engineers.
