Now Hiring: 2nd Shift Boring Machinist – Direct Hire Opportunity in Erie, PA

Emerge is actively recruiting skilled candidates for a 2nd Shift Boring Machinist position in Erie, PA. Our client is a trusted manufacturer of high-quality products for Military markets. This is a direct hire opportunity offering excellent pay and outstanding long-term benefitsin a union environment.

We’re looking for candidates with hands-on experience operating Boring Lathes, strong blueprint reading skills, and solid math and measurement abilities. Recent graduates of trade school programs in CNC Machining Technologies are encouraged to apply!

Position Highlights:

• Shift: 2nd Shift (Full Time, up to 48 hours/week)

• Pay Rate: $21.75 – $23.38 per hour plus a $0.40 shift premium

• Benefits Include:

  • Profit sharing ($5,000–$7,000 annually on average)

Key Responsibilities:

• Drill, bore, and hone manufactured products of varying lengths with inside diameters ranging from 10” to 18”.

• Perform ID machining processes from initial drilling through heat treatment to final boring and honing.

• Maintain tight tolerances and ensure print dimensional and surface finish specifications are met.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience operating boring equipment in a manufacturing environment

• Able to set up and operate manual mills and lathes

• Proficient in using precision measuring tools (micrometers, indicators, etc.)

• Strong blueprint reading ability

• Must pass pre-employment physicals and screenings

• Willing and able to work up to 48 hours per week
