Job Overview

Regular position in the Sheriff’s Office in Washington County. Pay range: $41.22 - $52.64 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Respond to calls for service.
• Patrol county roads, residential, and business areas.
• Investigate traffic accidents.
• Enforce traffic and criminal laws.

Qualifications

Must meet all of the following:

• Currently possess a Basic Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training “DPSST” certification or other equivalent local, state or federal certification as a Police Officer or Sheriff’s Patrol Deputy.
• Have completed a Field Training Program.
• Have at least one year of full‑time equivalent (2080 hours) work experience as a Police Officer or Sheriff’s Patrol Deputy, with experience not older than 12 months from application submission.

Additional Requirements

• Pass a thorough background investigation and meet State of Oregon DPSST standards.
• Hold a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record per Washington County policy.
