Washington County Sheriff’s Office seeks a sworn deputy to enforce state and county laws, primarily within the Patrol Operations Division, reporting to the Shift Sergeant. Responsibilities include enforcing codes, directing patrols, transporting arrestees, and documenting incidents.

The ideal candidate is at least 21 with a DCJS certification, US citizenship, a clean background, and good physical condition. Two years experience preferred; background checks and licensed driving are required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Must have a DCJS certification.
• U.S. citizen; no criminal background.
• Valid Virginia operator's license with no major convictions in the past five years.
• Able to pass a thorough background investigation.
• In good physical condition to perform duties.

Responsabilités

• Enforce state and county codes and ordinances as prescribed by policy.
• Direct, supervise and manage patrol operations.
• Collect evidence and make searches where needed.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
• Communicate effectively with staff, the public and other agencies.
• Safely transport arrestees in custody.
