Job summary

Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District in Reno, NV seeks a Lateral Firefighter/Paramedic to join a proactive all-risk emergency response team. Bring your firefighting and advanced life support experience to a department with strong retirement benefits.

The role requires completion of the firefighter probationary period with your current employer and at least one year of full-time Firefighter/Paramedic work with a public agency. Valid paramedic certification is required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent education.
• Completed firefighter probationary period with current employer and at least one year of full-time, continuous Firefighter/Paramedic experience with a public fire district.

Responsibilities

• Respond to structure fires, wildland fires, rescue incidents, medical emergencies, and public-assistance calls.
• Provide Paramedic-level patient assessment and advanced life support.
• Participate in hose operations, ladder operations, ventilation, extinguishment, extrication, and salvage.
• Operate and maintain firefighting, rescue, EMS, and wildland equipment.
• Participate in training, fire prevention, public education, and station operations.
• Prepare records and reports, and perform assigned duties safely and professionally.
