Job summary

Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District seeks motivated individuals to start a career in all‑risk emergency response. This role blends advanced life support with firefighting, rescue, and community service in Northern Nevada.

No prior firefighter experience is required at the time of application; candidates must complete the District's Fire Academy and obtain required certifications during the process.

Qualifications

• CPAT and NTN are required before applying and NTN results remain valid through recruitment.
• NV or National Registry Paramedic certification is required before EMS skills evaluation.
• High school diploma or equivalent and Firefighter I/II NFPA certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fires, medical incidents, rescue, and public assistance calls.
• Provide advanced life support and paramedic-level care.
• Participate in hose and ladder operations, ventilation, extinguishment, and extrication.
• Operate and maintain firefighting, rescue, EMS, and wildland equipment.
• Participate in training, community education, and station operations.
• Prepare reports and ensure equipment readiness and safety.
