Job summary

The City of Tolleson is seeking qualified individuals for the Lateral Firefighter position. This role covers fire suppression, EMS, prevention, hazmat, and public education. The lateral program requires Bridge Academy eligibility and Arizona certifications.

Applicants must meet prerequisites, provide CPAT, and be ready for a 48/96 schedule. A GO/NO-GO process includes testing, interview, and background checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 2 years as a full-time firefighter.
• Current EMT certification through AZDHS and valid Firefighter I & II certifications.
• Paramedic certification through AZDHS preferred.
• Valid AZ driver's license or obtain within 1 month of hire.

Responsibilities

• Fire suppression and emergency medical services.
• Fire prevention, hazardous materials response and mitigation.
• Public education and community outreach; equipment maintenance.
