Job summary

The Linn County Sheriff's Office is seeking experienced Corrections Deputies as lateral applicants. Join a team dedicated to safe custody of adults in custody, professional conduct, and ongoing training in diverse assignments including SWAT, FTO, and Dive Team.

Qualifications

• Be a US citizen and at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Oregon driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Ability to pass background checks, medical and psychological evaluations.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, varying shifts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain custody and surveillance of adults in custody.
• Inspect living quarters, manage programs and visitors.
• Control public movement within the jail.
• Prepare incident and population reports.
• Evaluate work release assignments and assist with problems.
• Process intake/outtake, fingerprinting and paperwork.
• Perform basic medical screening and distribute medications.
• Transport inmates to courts and other locations.
• Send teletype messages to other agencies.
• Develop and maintain professional working relationships.
• Maintain regular attendance.
