City of Peoria is seeking a full-time 911 Dispatcher to receive, process, and dispatch calls for service, ensuring rapid response and accurate information sharing with field personnel. The role requires flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays as part of 24/7 coverage.

Applicants must have a high school diploma, 2 years of related experience, typing speed of 35 wpm, and pass a comprehensive background check and CJIS training within 6 months of hire. Vision and hearing tests are required.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduation or equivalency.
• Experience: 2 years experience required in the same or similar previous positions.
• CJIS Security Training & ACJIS TOC within 6 months of hire.
• Typing 35 words-per-minute.
• Vision and hearing tests to required standards (20/20, 40db).
• Schedule includes nights, weekends, and holidays for 24/7 coverage.

Responsibilities

• Receiving, processing, and dispatching calls for service and providing information to personnel.
• This position requires shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Lateral, full-time 911 Dispatchers may earn paid time off (up to 80 hours) based on experience.
