The LPA II is the full journey level position in the Latent Print Analyst series. Under general direction from a Latent Print Supervisor, it independently analyzes, compares, evaluates and verifies difficult latent fingerprint and palm impressions against known prints, conducts database searches, and prepares case documentation and reports.

The role may travel to court to testify as an expert witness and provides training on Automated Latent Print System operations.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of the science and history of friction ridge examination.
• Knowledge of sequential processing and latent print development techniques.
• Experience communicating effectively both orally and in writing, including testimony as an expert witness.
• Willingness to travel and work off-site for extended periods.
• Capacity for maintaining cooperative working relationships and demonstrating tact and sound judgment.

Responsabilités

• Analyze, compare, evaluate and verify difficult latent fingerprint and palm impressions.
• Conduct searches through automated databases.
• Prepare and review case documentation and case reports.
• Travel to court to testify as an expert witness.
• Provide training on Automated Latent Print System operations.
