Job summary

The Cumberland County District Attorney's Office Forensic Laboratory seeks a detail-oriented Friction Ridge Examiner to join the six-disciplined forensic team. The role analyzes, compares, evaluates, and verifies latent prints, maintains objectivity, and supports the Office of the District Attorney as needed.

The ideal candidate has prior friction ridge experience and is pursuing or has certification as a CLPE through IAI, ensuring accreditation standards and QA compliance are met.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Forensic Science, Criminal Justice, or related field preferred.
• Three to five years of latent fingerprint examination experience.
• Valid PA driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• ACE-V analysis of latent fingerprints from crime scenes.
• Search databases for unknown prints.
• Document examination results.
• Prepare oral and written reports of findings.
• Testify in court regarding findings and procedures.
• Maintain chain of custody for evidence.
