Job summary

IDEX’s Advanced Thin Films Lasercom team is seeking an Operations Manager to lead safety, quality, and delivery for the Lasercom business line. You will drive scalable processes, oversee production, and ensure on-time, cost-efficient manufacturing in a high-precision environment.

You will build cross-functional teams, mentor supervisors, and partner with Finance on forecasting and capacity planning as ATF grows.

Qualifications

• Experience in high volume production environments.
• Experience in scaling production lines to achieve step functional production targets.
• 5+ years in manufacturing or process engineering.
• 5+ years leading operational or technical teams, including direct leadership responsibility.
• Experience supporting high-volume or precision manufacturing operations.
• Strong background in process development, industrialization, and continuous improvement/Lean manufacturing.
• Familiarity with optical manufacturing, coatings, or other precision-engineering processes strongly preferred.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering.
• Experience in Lean manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Safety leadership and program oversight across the Lasercom line.
• Quality: establish strategic quality vision and control systems.
• Production leadership: develop production strategies and coordinate across functions.
• Forecasting and capacity planning with Site and Finance leaders.
• Continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Manage customer relations and participate in reviews/audits.
• Develop talent and foster a culture of accountability and learning.
