Job summary

MPE, Inc. in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Laser/Turret Team Member for the second shift (2:30pm-11:00pm, Monday-Friday). You will set up and run laser and turret punch equipment to cut metal parts to print and quality standards, manage tooling, and assist fabrication as needed.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and at least 6 months of laser cutting experience, plus the ability to read drawings and use measuring tools. Forklift/overhead crane experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 6+ months of experience running laser cutting equipment.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and understand standard and metric dimensions.
• Knowledge of measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, and height gauges.
• Turret punch experience preferred.
• Forklift or overhead crane experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate laser and turret punch equipment to cut metal components to print and MPE quality requirements.
• Identify raw materials, and load and unload material using manual lifts, overhead cranes, and forklifts.
• Operate the InspecVision scanner to verify parts.
• Assemble, disassemble, and sharpen turret tooling.
• Perform nozzle alignment and focus lens cleaning.
• Run a test coupon at the start of each shift to zero the laser and punch.
• Flex to shakeout (part separation), deburring, hardware insertion, or press brake operations based on workload.
• Follow all MPE safety policies.
• Maintain an organized workplace through good housekeeping.

We are seeking a dedicated Laser/Turret Team Member to join our team.

In this vital role, you will set up and run laser and turret punch equipment to cut metal components to print and to our quality and production standards. You’ll handle tooling, machine upkeep, and material loading, and help out across other fabrication operations as workload requires.

Physical and Mental Demands

• Continuously stand, walk, and operate machinery; continuous use of vision, hearing, and comprehension.
• Occasionally sit, operate a forklift, perform math, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• The production facility is not climate controlled and may be warm or cool depending on the weather. Noise level is moderate to loud.
