MPE, Inc. is seeking a Laser Cutting Support Team Member in Milwaukee, WI to help separate and clean parts cut by laser and turret machines. This entry point into sheet metal fabrication emphasizes hands-on work, precision, and learning in a fast-paced environment.

Applicants should be detail-oriented and able to read drawings and work orders. The role follows a Monday–Friday 2:30pm–11:00pm shift with opportunities for growth and training.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Shake out and grind parts for medical carts, enclosures, and related products.
• Verify parts and other operators’ work against quality standards.
• Read mechanical drawings with standard and metric dimensions.
• Package and crate completed product.
• Work in inserting operations as needed.
• Train other team members as directed by the Team Leader.
• Follow safety requirements and PPE usage.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace.

We are seeking a dedicated Laser Cutting Support Team Member to join our team.

In this vital role, you will separate and clean up parts cut by our laser and turret machines, making sure they meet our quality standards before moving on to the next step in production. This is a great entry point into sheet metal fabrication for someone who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and ready to learn.

Shift Available: Monday-Friday 2:30pm-11:00pm

Key Responsibilities:

• Shake out (separate) and grind parts for medical carts, enclosures, and related products using sanders, a sandblaster, a Fladder deburring machine, and other tools.
• Verify parts, and other operators’ work when assigned, against quality standards.
• Read mechanical drawings, including standard and metric dimensions.
• Package and crate completed product.
• Work in inserting operations as needed.
• Work as part of a team or independently.
• Train other team members as directed by the Team Leader.
• Follow all safety requirements, including consistent use of proper PPE.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace through consistent housekeeping.

Qualifications

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience and Training:

• Ability to read and understand work orders, work instructions, and mechanical drawings.
• Ability to safely operate a variety of hand and power tools.
• Ability to use basic math, algebra, and geometry to work with dimensions and measurements.
• Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram instructions.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.

Physical and Mental Demands:

• Regularly sit, stand, talk, and hear; close vision required.
• Frequently walk and use hands to handle objects, tools, and controls.
• Frequently lift and move up to 30 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Operate a variety of manufacturing equipment.
• Work is performed in production areas that may be hot, cool, dusty, and moderately noisy.
