JOB SUMMARY

Amerlux is seeking a Laser/Turret Operator responsible for setting up tooling and materials according to specifications, setting up machines, and executing programs. The operator must communicate any program issues to the supervisor and troubleshoot until resolved. Responsibilities include producing quality parts, measuring parts to specifications, making adjustments, and completing work orders.

The Machine Operator should be able to train new employees on machine operation, inspect and check the quality of parts, perform preventive maintenance, rebuild multi-tool stations, and maintain dyes. Candidates must be proficient in using and reading calipers and protractors.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure production parts meet engineering drawings using appropriate measuring equipment.
• Accurately inventory and report completed parts and work orders in Oracle.
• Maintain and organize tooling.
• Keep a neat and organized work area.
• Follow all safety requirements as specified by the company.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience setting up and operating laser/turret machines, with experience on Amada machines a plus.
• Ability to set up and operate laser/turret machines.
• Ability to focus on tasks over extended periods without distraction.
• Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and their applications.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading.
• Experience with micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools.
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and cost management.
• Reliable, flexible, self-motivated team player capable of working independently.
