Job summary
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Livermore, CA, seeks NIF Laser System Operators to support the Beam Control System and Injection Laser System in the NIF Control Room. You will monitor laser beam alignment, timing, and pulse shaping for experiments, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, reliable operation.
This full-time, on-site role requires an associate degree or related experience, ability to obtain a U.S.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering Technology, Laser Electro-Optics, Physics, or related technical discipline.
- Experience with moderately complex electronic assembly and troubleshooting.
- Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee real-time operation of laser beam control and injection systems.
- Align targets, diagnostics, laser beams, and other alignment subsystems.
- Generate and maintain system documentation and diagrams.
- Collaborate with Physics and Engineering staff on developmental setups and experiments.
