Job summary

Tate Americas, a key player within Kingspan Data Solutions, is seeking a Team Leader I for its St. Paul, VA production facility. You will direct the department to manufacture quality products on time and at target costs, and help develop the skills of team members.

The role emphasizes safety, training of operators, and cross-team collaboration to meet production schedules. Long hours and weekend shifts may be required to achieve objectives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous supervisory experience or education.
• 8–10 years’ experience in manufacturing environment.
• Ability to use various tools and measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measure, dial indicator, and feeler gauges.
• Must be computer literate, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced working environment with accuracy.
• Able to work in a team environment and interface with a diverse workforce.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb unassisted.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk, bend, stoop, or crouch for at least an 8-hour shift.
• Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle or feel machinery, equipment or parts and work near moving mechanical parts.

Responsibilities

• Direct departmental productivity and responsibilities including scrap, timely work order close-outs, cost reduction and quality.
• Ensure safety policies and PPE are followed and safety topics communicated.
• Train employees on tasks such as machine operation, safety, and JSAs.
• Mentor and train new hires to ensure task competency and safety.
• Support cross training within the department for various operations.
• Oversee safety, quality, and environmental programs.
• Maintain paperwork, logs, attendance and disciplinary actions.
• Lead pre-shift and monthly safety meetings with maintenance staff.
• Collaborate as part of a team to cover breaks and production needs.
• Maintain housekeeping and follow all SOPs, MOPs and JSAs.
