Job summary

Lighteum Medical is seeking a Production Team Lead – Laser (Second Shift) for our San Diego facility. The role supports the Production Supervisor, directs daily production activities, trains staff, and ensures safety, quality and productivity standards are met.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience providing work direction or leadership in manufacturing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel).
• Ability to analyze information, solve problems, and draw conclusions.
• Ability to interpret manufacturing docs, specs, diagrams.
• Strong verbal and written communication across levels.
• Knowledge of quality systems, GMP, EHS, and documentation practices.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and ERP/MRP systems.

Responsibilities

• Assign work, allocate resources, monitor progress to production schedules.
• Provide day-to-day work direction, training, and feedback to production staff.
• Troubleshoot issues; coordinate resolution or escalation as needed.
• Demonstrate proficiency across operations; support coordination with related work centers.
• Review production reports, quality records, and metrics to support quality and productivity.
• Coordinate training activities and communicate priorities with Production Supervisor.
• Serve as operational backup, including timecard processing within authorized limits.
• Ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance within the area and address concerns.
• Identify issues impacting schedules, quality, costs, or commitments.
• Support continuous improvement to enhance safety, quality, and delivery.
