Job summary

Graepel North America in Omaha, NE is seeking a skilled CNC Laser Operator to set up and run our laser cutting systems. The role includes reading blueprints, selecting gas, nozzles and lenses, and ensuring 0-defect parts.

You will perform preventative maintenance, document workmanship, and work a schedule Monday-Thursday 2:30 PM to 12:30 AM with three-day weekends off Friday through Sunday. Medical and dental premiums are paid 100% for employees and dependents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to use direct-reading measuring devices.
• Experience in manufacturing, fabrication management, or operations preferred.
• Forklift operation capability with certification.
• Ability to work in a team or independently.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC laser machine.
• Retrieve programs and manage gases, nozzles, and lenses for laser operation.
• Understand metal fabrication processes and concepts.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs on CNC laser.
• Prepare machinery and tooling to produce defect-free parts.
• Check accuracy using blueprints and precision measuring tools.
• Complete work orders with correct quantities of good and defective parts.
• Work a schedule as determined by supervision.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

Essential Functions Statements

• Ability to setup and operate CNC laser machine
• Knowledge and hands-on operation of CNC laser for metal fabrication including program retrieval, proper gases, proper nozzles, lenses, etc.
• Knowledge and understanding of metal fabrication process and concepts.
• Provide routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs to CNC laser machine.
• Setup metal fabrication machinery and other production necessities to produce "0 defect" parts.
• Check accuracy of work using blueprints and precision measuring tools.
• Accurately complete work orders with correct quantities of good and defective parts.
• Work a regular schedule determined by supervisory management
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education:

• High School Degree or equivalent and/or related experience required.

Experience:

• Ability to use Direct read measuring devices required.
• Ability to properly document paperwork.
• Previous experience in manufacturing engineering, fabrication management and/or operations of low and mid-sized volume metal fabrication preferred.
• Ability to operate a forklift and obtain certification.
• Ability to work in a team environment and/or independently.
