Louis Industries, Inc. is seeking a skilled Laser/CNC Operator for our Minnesota facility. The role focuses on operating laser and punching machines, loading programs, and maintaining cutting quality while ensuring safety and quality standards.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with a 2-year CNC/tooling degree preferred and 3+ years of related experience. Evening shift, full-time, on-site with competitive hourly pay and quarterly bonuses.

Responsibilities

• Operate laser and punching machines.
• Load and edit machine programs.
• Maintain cutting quality at acceptable feed rates.
• Perform first part and random part inspections per protocol.
• Perform general laser maintenance and upkeep of equipment.
• Perform advanced maintenance on optical and mechanical systems.
• Ensure products meet quality standards.
• Handle steel raw material and scrap responsibly.
• Stack parts onto pallets, prepare for shipping.
• Safely operate forklift and use hand/power tools.
• Follow all safety regulations and participate in process improvements.

Job description

Job Duties

• Regularly operate laser and/or punching machines
• Load and edit machine programs
• Maintain cutting quality at acceptable feed rates
• Perform first part and random part inspections according to protocol on work order router
• Perform general laser maintenance, including startup/shutdown, window cleaning, nozzle centering, cleaning dust bins, replacing cutting beds, and keeping lasers and work environment clean
• Perform advanced maintenance, including window changing/focal depth, external optical path cleaning and realignment, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical repair
• Assures that all products conform to prescribed quality standards
• Handle assorted steel raw material and steel scrap
• Separate/”pick” parts from skeletons that are cut on the laser and stack onto pallet/containers
• Package parts using banding or shrink wrap, as needed
• Safely operate forklift to load and unload material and move completed parts
• Operate small hand and power tools
• Follow all standard safety regulations
• Support process improvement activities
