Job summary

Ohio Laser LLC is seeking a CNC Laser Operator to set up and run a laser cutting machine, load materials, and verify parts against drawings. You will perform inspections, deburr, and document production steps while maintaining ERP records and safety standards.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, precision measurement, and familiarity with CAM/ToPs software, plus experience with CNC software and NC codes. This on-site position includes day-to-evening shifts and physical duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1–2 years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machine; load material and inspect parts.
• Document parts per engineering drawings; deburr and box.
• Use CAM nesting, ToPs, and other software on machine.
• Input time, material, quantity into ERP.
• Follow company quality program.
• Identify materials; transport from storage; dispose of scrap.
• Perform routine maintenance on machine.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Run secondary operations on other machines when time allows.
• Wear safety equipment and follow safety rules.
• Report discrepancies to supervisor.

Salary Range: $20.00 To $24.00 Hourly

Job Description -Sets up and operates CNC Laser Cutting Machine, load material, cut, inspect & document parts, de-burr, skid or box and deliver to next operation.

Duties:

• Set up and operation of CNC machine and basic machine parameters.
• Use CAM nesting, ToPs and other software on machine.
• Perform “First Piece Article” inspections and document part dimensions per engineering drawings and specifications.
• Input time, material, quantity produced into ERP software.
• Understanding of Company quality program.
• Material identification to facilitate selecting and transporting from storage to machine, properly identify left over raw material for return to inventory location and proper disposal of scrap.
• Perform and document routine maintenance on machine as directed.
• Keep machines and work area clean, neat, and orderly.
• Runs secondary operations on other machines when required or time allows.
• De- tab and de-burr parts with grinders and sander.
• Reports any discrepancies to immediate supervisor.
• Wear safety equipment and follow all safety rules and procedures as required and directed.
• Other duties may be required as assigned.

Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as engineering drawings, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to use and care for precision measuring equipment and tools such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other tools and gauges.
• Knowledge of bothmetric and inch measuring systems.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic math and geometry.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Knowledge of manufacturing ERP software, Windows software and CNC software and NC code.
• Operate a lift truck (license).

Education/Training:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
