Central Plains Steel is seeking a dedicated Production/Operator candidate for 3rd shift, working 4x10s in Wichita, KS. The role involves setting up laser cutting units, handling materials, and ensuring quality per blueprints and orders.

You’ll perform precision measurement, operate equipment, and participate in safety procedures. This is a full-time, long-term position with benefits and growth potential.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders and tooling instructions.
• Demonstrate basic measurement skills and math for tolerances and dimensions.
• Operate within safety guidelines and quality standards.
• Maintain accuracy while handling materials and parts.
• Able to lift up to 100 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Review blueprints and work orders to determine processing specifications.
• Set up laser cutting unit, adjust speeds and feeds for jobs.
• Position work pieces for processing and operate laser equipment as needed.
• Perform in-process and final inspections using calipers and micrometers.
• Move materials using forklift or crane as required and document work orders.
• Report irregularities to supervisor and maintain clean, safe work area.
