Job summary

Central Plains Steel is seeking a Press Brake Operator for Plant 2 in Wichita, KS. This full-time role supports safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery with two press brake machines and close collaboration with laser, parts breakdown, and shipping teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must meet Level 4 (Heavy Work) capacity.
• 0–5 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
• Basic measurement and math skills for length, width, height, and weight.

Responsibilities

• Review blueprints, work orders, and tooling instructions to understand machining characteristics.
• Determine processing specifications and tolerances.
• Ensure correct material is used per work orders.
• Coordinate material handling and move pieces for processing.
• Operate machines and monitor speeds, feeds, and tooling.
• Measure parts with calipers, micrometers, and scales to verify specs.
• Perform in-process and final quality inspections.
• Maintain equipment and report irregularities to supervisor.
• Complete paperwork and documentation.
