Job summary

WEG, a leading global laser manufacturing employer in Washington, MO, is seeking a Laser Equipment Operator to run laser systems, read BOMs, and interpret blueprints for precise cutting. You will set up steel, use fork trucks, inspect parts, and program complex laser operations while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency.

The role requires basic reading/writing, ability to lift up to 60 pounds, and overtime as needed, with a focus on meeting detailed specs and production schedules.

Qualifications

• Prior experience operating machinery.
• Able to work over-time as needed.
• Occasionally lifting objects weighing over 60 pounds.
• Must read, write and comprehend common vocab.
• Must read, interpret and work from blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret BOMs, drawings and cutting schedules to complete laser operations without supervision.
• Set up steel in storage and load using fork trucks and automated systems.
• Inspect steel blanks for size, thickness, damage, and burrs to meet specs.
• Operate machine with automated controls and program laser operations from schedules.
• Ensure beam focus and cut quality; monitor gases and maintain equipment.
