Job summary

Technical Metal Specialties, Inc. in New Berlin, WI is seeking a CNC laser cutting operator to set up, adjust and run computer-controlled laser cutting machines on sheet stock per established instructions.

We provide training for minimal experience, an employee‑owned culture, a $2,500 hiring bonus, plus paid time off and holidays. Shift is Monday to Thursday, 3:15pm–1:15am, with growth opportunities and performance reviews.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED/HSED required.
• 1–3 years related experience and/or training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate computer‑controlled laser cutting machine to produce parts from sheet stock.
• Load nest programs and assure proper cutting parameters for material.
• Set and align machine for cutting operation.
• Identify parts with correct shop and part number; use calipers, tape measures and squares.
• Perform daily maintenance and document material changes as needed.
• Work from drawings and cutting orders, and perform final inspections.

Technical Metal Specialties is looking to expand their team at New Berlin, WI.!

Employees are eligible for pay increases at their 90-day review and 6-month review as expectations are met.

Full-Time: Mon day -Thursday, 3:15pm to 1:15am

Minimal experience - WILL TRAIN starting at $19.00 per hour

Experienced operators starting around $23.50 to $28.00

Summary

Set up, adjust and operate computer-controlled laser cutting machine to produce parts from sheet stock in accordance with instructions.

Essential duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Load nest programs and assure proper cutting parameters for material
• Set and align machine for cutting operation.
• Select, install, and replace proper consumables as required
• Assure nozzle centering, standoff calibration as required
• Make minor changes to cutting parameters as material cutting conditions change, document those changes
• May make simple adjustments to programs as authorized.
• Perform daily maintenance functions as required.
• Identify parts with correct shop and part number.
• Use a variety of precision measuring equipment.
• Mark remnant material appropriately
• Perform subsequent operations as required, such as drilling, reaming, tapping, etc.
• Clean and deburr parts as required prior to releasing parts to the next operation.
• Work from drawings, cutting orders (programs), and specifications. Make simple adjustments to programs as authorized.
• Work subject to first piece and final inspection. Use calipers, tape measures, squares, other various gages.
