Job summary

STEEL CRAFT is seeking a Laser Operator to run flat laser cutting machines for steel components. You will read blueprints, monitor equipment, and ensure high-quality cuts while maintaining safety and efficiency.

The role requires hands-on experience with Mitsubishi or Trumpf flat lasers, as well as precision measurement skills using calipers and micrometers. A valid forklift certification and ability to work in a manufacturing environment are essential.

Job description

The Laser Operator is responsible for operating flat laser cutting machines to process steel and other metal components in a steel fabrication environment. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to ensure high-quality cuts while maximizing efficiency and safety. This position will have experience with laser cutting equipment, blueprint reading, and precision measuring tools.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperate flat laser cutting machines to cut steel components according to specifications.Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings to determine cutting requirements.Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and report issues.Perform basic preventative maintenance on laser equipment.Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues.Use precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to inspect finished parts for accuracy.Operates forklift to retrieve materials for laser cutting operations.Accurately log job information into ERP computer system.Accurately fill out required operations and quality paperwork.Work closely with co-workers to improve laser cutting processes and productivity.Follow company policies, safety protocols, and quality assurance guidelines to ensure compliance with industry standards.Other Duties as Assigned: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
