Job summary

Olympic Steel, Inc. is seeking a Material Handler to support production by moving work-in-progress and finished goods, and by preparing materials paperwork on the floor.

You will operate a forklift, use handheld plasma and an acetylene torch, and assist with raw material receiving, scrap handling, and overhead crane tasks (5–10 ton) as needed. The role requires diligence, basic math, and the ability to work under general supervision.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift experience required.
• Acetylene torch and handheld plasma experience preferred.
• Proper use and care of precision instruments.
• Basic math skills required.
• Self-motivated with ability to work under general supervision.

Responsibilities

• Move WIP material on the production floor and stage finished goods.
• Load trucks and manage raw material receiving and prep.
• Prepare paperwork for materials on the floor.
• Operate forklift, plasma cutter, and acetylene torch as needed.
• Overhead crane operation (5-10 ton) and rigging when required.
