Job summary

Olympic Steel, Inc. is seeking a Material Handler to support production, move WIP on the floor, and assist with raw material receipt. You will also stage finished goods, prep paperwork, and help with scrap handling.

Responsibilities include forklift operation, handheld plasma use, acetylene torch, and overhead crane work. High school diploma and forklift experience are required; basic math and self-motivation are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift experience required.
• Acetylene torch and handheld plasma experience preferred.
• Proper use and care of precision instruments.
• Basic math skills.
• Self-motivated with ability to work under general supervision.

Responsibilities

• Move work-in-progress material on the production floor.
• Staging finished goods and loading trucks.
• Receive raw materials and prepare materials for use.
• Prepare paperwork for materials on the floor.
• Handle scrap parts and operate forklift, handheld plasma.
• Use overhead crane (5–10 ton) and rigging as needed.
