Job summary

Komatsu is seeking a Field Service Technician in Malta, New York, to support installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of laser-equipped equipment at customer sites. The role emphasizes structured on-the-job training to build foundational technical and safety skills for progression.

The position requires a HS diploma or GED, with preference for an associate degree or technical training; strong willingness to learn and effective communication are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree, military experience, or comparable technical training preferred.
• Demonstrated aptitude, initiative, and willingness to learn in a technical service environment.
• Ability to learn laser theory, installation processes, and maintenance practices.
• Willingness to follow safety requirements and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Participate in structured training to develop technical proficiency in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, laser theory, parts identification, tooling, and installation procedures.
• Assist with on-site installation, maintenance, and repair activities at customer sites.
• Learn to use service tools and Microsoft 365 applications as part of field work.
• Support root cause analysis by gathering data, documenting findings, and contributing to corrective action planning.
