Hypertherm Associates is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead an US-based engineering team focused on laser technologies. You will provide technical direction, build capability, and partner with cross-functional teams in Italy and the US to drive product roadmaps and development.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, laser-domain knowledge, and collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, and product marketing to meet cost, quality, and schedule targets.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of engineers or technical teams with strong coaching skills.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and ability to steer complex R&D work.
• Experience leading cross-functional product or technology programs.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to translate customer needs into engineering priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop engineers through selection, coaching, and performance management.
• Build team capability with mentoring, training and clear ownership.
• Lead R&D for new technologies, IP, and product performance.
• Provide technical direction for product and technology development.
• Contribute to roadmaps via market and application knowledge.
• Lead cross-functional teams across Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, Operations.
• Ensure designs meet reliability, cost, and schedule requirements.
• Define engineering standards and development processes.
• Translate customer needs into improved products and services.
• Align engineering priorities across Hypertherm.
