Job summary
Global Laser Enrichment in Wilmington, NC seeks a Laser Engineer to drive optimum performance of pulsed CO2 lasers and subsystems. You will report to the Engineering Manager and collaborate with Operations, Process Physics, Mechanical Engineering, and other teams to integrate work into larger program goals supporting commercialization of GLE’s technology.
The role emphasizes designing improved laser components, characterizing systems, and leading projects to enhance performance and cost
Qualifications
- B.S. in Engineering, Physics, or related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in plasma physics and pulsed CO2 lasers.
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on construction/repair of pulsed CO2 lasers.
- Willingness to undergo background investigation and drug test.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement improved laser components to optimize performance.
- Lead projects to install and test novel optical systems.
- Characterize and optimize parameters using optical methods.
- Develop analytical models describing laser system physics for project goals.
- Support pursuit of creative manufacturing solutions for optics and mechanics.
- Provide laser operations support and maintain up-to-date expertise.
