Job summary

Autokiniton is seeking a qualified professional to ensure engineered processes and equipment align with production needs, targeting minimal downtime and a 95% OA. The role covers capital equipment, laser optimization and continuous improvement in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities include leading laser and equipment projects, defining scope and timing, and interfacing with management, while ensuring compliance with quality standards such as TS16949 and ISO-14001.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; or five years plus related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Intermediate MS Office and basic MS Project; strong communication via email.

  • Define project timing and performance costs; approve revisions to scope and timing.
  • Interface projects with other management staff and evaluate status.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

This position responsibility is specific to ensuring that the engineered process and equipment is aligned to the production requirements ensuring the least amount of machine downtime is achieved targeting an OA of 95%.

JOB TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

The following job/task functions have been identified as the core functions of this position. However, the supervisor or manager may assign additional duties associated with this position.

Capital Equipment
  • Oversees projects on new equipment in Laser Department.
  • Defines project in regards to timing and performance cost.
  • Gives direction and approves revisions to project scope and/or timing.
  • Evaluates project status.
  • Interfaces/introduces projects to other management staff.
Laser Optimization
  • Defines project in regards to timing and performance cost.
  • Gives direction and approval for revisions to project scrap and timing.
  • Evaluates project status.
  • Interfaces and introduces projects to other management staff.
  • Responsible for Buyoff at tool shop of laser fixtures and programs.
  • Complete SPC (Statistical Process Control) charts as needed.
Continuous Improvement
  • Provides direction to production technical support to improve production processes to reduce scrap or costs.
  • Trains technicians and maintenance personnel on proper trouble shooting process.
  • Eliminate quality spills from lasers.
  • Reviews improvement project status.
  • Keeps "up to date" on new technology available in the market and educate personnel on it's use.
  • Creates and proposes new ideas on making the plant more competitive in the market.
Other
  • Performs all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.).
  • Able and willing to work any shift assigned, weekends and overtime.
  • Regular and predictable attendance required.
  • Assumes other duties as directed by supervisor.
  • Responsible for reading and understanding the TS16949 and ISO-14001 procedures.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university; or five years plus related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technical Skills
  • Microsoft Office at an intermediate level
  • Microsoft Project at a beginning level
  • Effective email and electronic communication skills are required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Duties include but are not limited to stand, walk, twist, bend, lift, see, talk and hear, with the ability to work in a manufacturing environment. At plant site locations, employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration or hazardous materials.
