The Laser Programmer creates, maintains, and optimizes CNC laser programs and material nests used to support production. Education: High school diploma or GED required. Technical training in CNC programming, CAD/CAM, drafting, manufacturing, or a related field is strongly preferred.
Experience: Previous experience with CNC laser programming, nesting, sheet metal fabrication, CAD/CAM, or manufacturing production is preferred. Equivalent technical or manufacturing experience may be considered.
Computer Skills: Strong overall computer skills are required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, is required. Experience with CAD/CAM, laser programming, nesting software, ERP/MRP systems, or document-control systems is strongly preferred.
Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, bills of material, material specifications, and revision information. Basic understanding of sheet metal fabrication and CNC laser cutting is preferred.
Other Requirements: Must be dependable, able to follow directions, detail-oriented, organized, and capable of maintaining accuracy while working under pressure. Must manage changing priorities, communicate effectively, and work independently with limited supervision after training.
