Job summary

Security Services Northwest, Inc. is seeking a part-time security officer in Las Vegas, NV. You will act as a visible deterrent, monitor activities, control access, provide safety escorts, and maintain detailed incident and daily activity reports.

Ideal candidates have a Nevada armed security guard license, strong integrity, and the ability to work swing shifts, weekends, and holidays. EMT background is a plus, with on-site duties and a drug-free workplace enforced.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of security experience required
• Nevada Armed Security Guard license required
• Reliable transportation and ability to work non-traditional hours

Responsibilities

• Act as a visual deterrent to prevent theft, embezzlement, sabotage, fire, and accidents
• Monitor activities
• Access Control
• Safety escorts
• Using provided communication devices
• Represent SSNW’s brand
• Complete Daily Activity Reports (DAR) and Incident Reports
• Work with local law enforcement and emergency services
• Provide friendly assistance to customers, employees and visitors following procedures

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Act as a visual deterrent to prevent theft, embezzlement, sabotage, fire, and accidents
• Monitor activities
• Access Control
• Safety escorts
• Using provided communication devices
• Represent SSNW’s brand
• Properly wear the issued uniform
• Complete Daily Activity Reports (DAR)
• Complete Incident Reports
• Work with local law enforcement, and emergency services
• Provide friendly assistance to customers, employees and visitors following the department's procedures.
• Other duties as described in the Post Orders

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Current Nevada State Armed Security Guard License
• EMT Background is a plus
• Smart phone to access the apps we use for scheduling, clocking in/out, and reporting.
• Reliable transportation
• Honesty and Integrity
• Able to work non-traditional hours including swings, graveyard, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to react appropriately in high stress situations

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• MINIMUM: 10 years prior Law Enforcement, Public Safety and/or Corrections experience required
• Reserve police officers encouraged to apply
• Valid driver's license with insurable record
• Knowledge of security protocols, and equipment

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to conduct regular walking foot patrols
• Able to stand 8-12 hours a day
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times (occasionally)
