Large Fabrication Equipment Operator

Short description

Matrix Service is seeking a Large Fabrication Equipment Operator for our Fab shop in Catoosa, OK. The Equipment Operator primarily operates fabricating machines and may also handle moving materials to and from warehouse storage and packing materials for shipping.

Proficiency in the following is required:

• Burn Table
• Large Plate Roll
• Overhead crane
• Large Press Brake
• Plate Drill Press
• Saws (automated fab shop saws)
• Large Bevel Mills

Description

• Actively support the company's commitment to safety and its core values.
• Represent the company with high moral standards, adhering to the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
• Operate fabrication machinery that cuts, shapes, and bends metal components.
• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material needs.
• Position workpieces accurately and operate machines accordingly.
• Monitor machine operation for defects or malfunctions; measure workpieces for accuracy.
• Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from workpieces.
• Manage materials from warehouse for production and shipping.
• Load/unload trucks and deliver materials to production areas.
• Palletize materials for production and expeditor pickup.
• Package materials for shipping.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment.
• Follow safety standards and regulations.
• Perform minor machine maintenance as needed.
• Maintain regular attendance; perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:

• Previous experience or training in fabrication or machine shop environment.
• Ability to operate relevant tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of basic hand tools.
• Ability to read drawings, perform basic math, and use measuring tools.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Valid safety training card required.
• Completion of Matrix Service Basic Safety and Process Safety Management training.
• Valid commercial driver's license and good driving record preferred.
• Moderate computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and database applications.
• Good communication skills for a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to pass drug testing and maintain compliance.
