Job Description

Agile Defense is seeking a Russian Open Source Monitoring Specialist to support a federal law enforcement client’s Open Source Intelligence Program. The role focuses on detecting threats to specific people, locations, and events by monitoring publicly available online information in multiple languages, including Russian.

Responsibilities include using Russian language proficiency, Boolean logic, automated search tools, and other research skills to locate potential threats across social media, news sites, forums, and other open‑source sources. The discovered threats will be used by security and law‑enforcement personnel worldwide to increase the safety of specific people, locations, and events. Shift work is required (6 am‑6:15 pm, 4 shifts on/4 shifts off).

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of relevant experience, or 4 years of relevant experience without a degree

Required Skills

• Experience in advanced online research
• Proficiency in Russian language, with ability to assist in translation efforts with correct cultural and ethnic context
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Russian
• Knowledge of internet-based research, including Boolean logic
• Knowledge of machine‑translation methods
• Demonstrated ability to learn new software quickly
• Ability to establish liaison and interact effectively with individuals at all levels

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of popular and fringe social media platforms
• Completed formal Open Source Intelligence or advanced internet research training course
