Job summary

AoPS Academy in Redmond, WA is seeking a part-time Language Arts Instructor to teach advanced language arts using our curriculum. This in-person role requires availability after school or on weekends, with a minimum commitment of about 3 hours per week per class and each course meeting once weekly for 1 hour 45 minutes.

During summer, multiple two-week camps are offered. Candidates must reside in Redmond or nearby and be legally authorized to work in the US (sponsorship not available).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in education or humanities is strongly preferred.
• Strong content knowledge in reading, writing, and/or grammar.
• Experience teaching or tutoring students.
• K-12 classroom teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach Engaging Curriculum using company-created materials.
• Engage students for student-led learning.
• Classroom management of up to 16 students.
• Grade and provide feedback on tests.
• Build relationships with students and families.
• Inspire a love for learning and critical thinking in language arts.
