Job summary
Tucson Unified School District is seeking a Language Acquisition Coach to support teachers in implementing research-based methods for ELL students. Requirements include AZ teaching certification with SEI/BE/ESL endorsement, a Master's degree or substantial ESL/bilingual teaching experience, and
Qualifications
- Knowledge and/or experience as a trainer in the Essential Elements of Instruction (EEI); willingness to complete within one year
- Knowledge of Arizona State Standards including Common Core; willingness to complete within one year
- Arizona Teaching Certification with SEI/BE/ESL Endorsement; IVP fingerprint clearance card
Responsibilities
- Teaches and models effective instructional methodologies for classroom teachers addressing proficiency in a second language
- Works with Principals to promote best practices for teaching content and language arts to English Language Learners
- Ensures that ELD instruction is provided as required
