Responsibilities and Requirements

Position Summary

The Landscape Technicianis a full-time, seasonal position responsible for maintaining the appearance of the landscaping and grounds of our Parkview Villas and Villas at Brookview apartment communities. This position waters flowers and shrubs, pulls weeds, spreads mulch and performs other landscaping projects as needed.

Essential Job Functions

1. Landscapes properties by watering flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes and mulching the grounds
2. Waters grass and plants and applies fertilizer and pesticides to maintain and enhance appearance of lawn
3. Pulls weeds and trims shrubs and trees as necessary
4. Sweeps debris off of walkways
5. Installs rock, cement, lighting, and lawn furniture fixtures as needed
6. Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as required

Required Qualifications

Education, Training and or/ Experience

Less than high school diploma or general education degree (GED) with relevant landscaping experience.

1. Knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use of grounds keeping materials, equipment, and tools
2. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in order to meet deadlines

Physical Demands

The nature of work requires an ability to communicate and exchange information and operate general landscaping equipment and tools. Requires the ability to be on one’s feet for extended periods of time, to bend, kneel, and reach in order to maintain surfaces of all heights and sizes, as well as an ability to lift and move materials or equipment up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a general office environment and apartment community. Individuals will be frequently exposed to outside weather conditions, including wet, warm and cold environments.
